The Montague Institute will hold a one-day roundtable
at Mitre Corporation, Reston, Virginia, on June 22, 1999, to provide a
forum in which participants can share information on this topic. This
is not a training session, but an idea exchange for experienced practitioners.
Discussion questions:
What strategies work best to change behavior from
information "hoarding" to information sharing?
What projects or applications are most likely to
be "success stories" that effect change throughout the organization?
How can new tools and techniques make it easier
for people to contribute their know-how?
How can support staff be trained to help busy professionals
find the time to contribute to the knowledge base?
Are some disciplines more prone to information
sharing? If so, what can be learned from them?
How does the "process" approach to information
sharing differ from the "heroes" approach? When is one approach
more appropriate than the other?
What are the most important things top management
do to encourage information sharing?
