The Information Advisor Monthly Newsletter (subscription) out of New York. Info at: http://www.findsvp.com/publications/infoadvisor/index.shtm. Primarily business information, all formats, but always includes blurbs on new Internet sites of interest.

Access Internet Magazine (an insert 1x per month in our Sunday paper). Info at: http://www.accessmagazine.com Yes, you read it right--the Sunday paper.  They do give good coverage of various sites under a wide range of topics.  Free access to online version over Internet, nicely arranged with ratings.

Here is the list of links that the folks at CISTI use for current awareness: http://www.nrc.ca/cisti/cisti_links/select_e.shtml. It can't be that private since it's accessible via the internet. CISTI, btw is one of the best sci-tech libraries in the world.

Running "free searches" for specific keywords in the News search engine from Northern Light. Remember, news from a huge list of sites is free for 2 weeks. Note: You can sort results by day & time.
