Original request

I'm looking for examples of interactive business tutorials

Responses:
1. The librarians at Arizona State University have created a great guide to researching a company. The direct link is http://www.asu.edu/lib/hayden/ref/busi/resco.html

In addition, there's a great flowchart at http://www.asu.edu/lib/hayden/ref/busi/compflow.html

It's not exactly interactive, but I think it might give you some ideas.

Sandra G. Rizzo, City of Mesa Library

2. Michael Enyart, director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Business Library, put together a handy .pdf on how to research a company. It isn't interactive, but it does have screen shots. See http://business.library.wisc.edu/Research_Guides/tips.pdf

Elizabeth Stephan, J.D. Williams Library

3. I have accumulated a list of several over the years and you are welcome to a copy if you want. A typical example of what I have is: http://www.virtualpet.com/industry/howto/search.htm

Les Reed, Project Director - Knowledge Management Service

4. The New York Public Library's Science, Industry and Business Library has an online class called "Prospecting for Business Information" online here:

5. You may want to take a look at Viewlet Builder http://www.qarbon.com/products/viewletbuilder/. It may be a bit simple for your needs but I thought it was worth mentioning.

You can capture the steps you would take to access and use a resource. You can also add slides and interactive quizzes. Take a look at the demos. It will give you a better idea of what's possible.

Mari Martin, Royal Roads University Library

6. Kirk Tyson has authored several books on competitive intelligence that are used in various CI programs. There's one in particular that comes to mind: The Complete Guide to Competitive Intelligence. It provides worksheets that guide students through the information collection process. The book comes with a CD but I am not sure if it provides any kind of interactive tool (might just be electronic versions of the worksheets).

Cost is $150 but you can get it from the site for $90.
