Cities with the most headquarters
Thanks to everyone who helped me out on my question about which cities had the most headquarters. I think everyone posted their answers to the list but here is a brief summary of sources where the answer can be found.
Dun & Bradstreet Sales and Marketing has this info.
OneSource allows users to search and find companies by a lot of different parameters including headquarters.
"Location Trends of Large Company Headquarters in the 1990s" (PDF)
You might be able to generate a report like this in S&P's Research Insight (COMPUSTAT data).
A search on D&B Marketplace of headquarters sorted by metropolitan areas (city not available) provides a list.
That list can be found in the Rand McNally Commercial Atlas & Marketing Guide.
You can do this with Zapdata.com, the brand new web-based version of theold D&B Marketplace Business Disc service.
