Private company data

Summary posted by Robyn Stockand, National Bank Financial, on December 3, 2002

For private company information, the following were suggested:

ReferenceUSA, but their business model would not work for us as we can't prove we are a "library."

However, the Business Credit Reports from InfoUSA might be of assistance in some cases. The problem is the sales figures are not as reported by the company but based on some model created by the company based on a number of factors. The result is that a sales range is given rather than a firm number. Also, it doesn't appear that the reports have a date on them.

Related to InfoUSA is Corptech.  It is a nice looking product, but has quite high minimum purchase orders for the pay per view service. It focuses on US technology companies. You could also try Forbes 500 Largest Private Companies.
