Summary posted by Jackie Richardson, Worth Magazine, on February 10, 1999

Schonfeld & Associates Inc., Lincolnshire, Ill., 847-948-8080, 1-800-205-0030 Schonfeld & Associates publishes the following titles for R&D spending: "R&D Ratios & Budgets" analyzes the R&D budgeting practices of major corporations. This gives company data and industry data by SIC code., "R&D Growth Trends," "U.S. Sourcebook of R&D Spenders" is a list of publically owned corporations with their R&D budgets, annual R&D growth rate, projected sales, etc. You can learn more about some of the Schonfeld publications and products at this address: http://www.saibooks.com/.

You can do a search in Disclosure and get the R&D totals, without paying for the whole record in Dialog. I've also found them at the industry level in the journal, Research Management Technology. If you are doing telecom companies, they have to report R&D expenditures to the FCC.
