Ten questions that multi-disciplinary taxonomy teams

MONTAGUE INSTITUTE NEWS
-- New Montague Institute Fellow
We are very pleased to welcome Marcia
Morante as our newest Fellow. Marcia will be developing and teaching
a course on usability in Knowledge Base Publishing. She is also available
for on-site sessions and taxonomy implementation services.
All seminars now include an optional Certificate
of Completion. To get the certificate, each participant must submit the
results of the seminar "homework" assignments and create a prototype
taxonomy using the Lab.
-- Lab enhancements
The Web-based Lab has the following new features:
— authority files for corporate and personal
names, geographic names, and management functions;
— query external Web sites (e.g. Google, Bitpipe,
MeansBusiness) on any term;
— create two separate thesauri, each with its
own terms, relationships, and document links;
— create cross references from terms in one
thesaurus to terms in another thesaurus.

(the collected wisdom of the world's expert researchers)
A vendor-neutral introduction to the why and how of
integrating business taxonomies. By "integration" we mean bridging
the gaps between disciplines and cultures as well as making taxonomies
available to navigation tools, incorporating them into business applications,
and including them in editorial work flow. Includes access to our Web-based
Lab.
