We are pleased that Joanna Naratil of Air Products & Chemicals and Paul Rosenberg, an intranet search specialist at a casualty insurance company will talk about their experiences with taxonomies and MOSS 2007 search on day 2 of the Taxonomies, search, and Sharepoint seminar.
This month's entries include a discussion of Web 2.0 applications, an article citing problems using Sharepoint for both collaboration and content management, a collection of search screen shots, and a report on emerging technologies of interest to knowledge-intensive organizations.
Jean Graef of the Montague Institute will show how concepts from everyday life and real-world demos can be used to communicate taxonomy value. Then Jie-Hong Morrison of Computer Technologies Consultants and Luigi Canali of Canali, Inc. will show examples of successful demonstrations they've used in a multi-year search project for an Executive Branch federal agency.
Julia Daniel, taxonomist for the General Motors Media Archive, will describe how they manage the taxonomies of multiple media collections with metadata in English and German.
Nearly all graduate level programs offer the
option for an independent study, practicum, or field experience. Montague
Institute courses fit into any of these categories for degrees in information
management, knowledge management, and similar interdisciplinary programs.
