Discussion at the September 19 roundtable, "Adding value with taxonomy," focused on four main issues.
1. What are the business drivers for taxonomy-related investments? 2. What are the pros and cons of various taxonomy-creation tools, techniques, and strategies? 3. How does taxonomy impact an organization’s human resources in terms of staffing and organizationn? 4. How does taxonomy add value? How do companies determine the return-on-investment for taxonomy-related expenditures?

As in other Montague Institute roundtables, the group represented an interdisciplinary mix from several industries. The goal was not instruction but rather an exchange of ideas and experiences designed to give participants a broader perspective on the topic. To explore subtopics in greater depth, participants can network privately with each other and/or join the Society's taxonomy community of practice.
