Going virtual

More companies are deciding that maintaining physical facilities such as libraries, conference centers, and executive dining rooms no longer makes economic sense. The Internet has accelerated a trend toward "going virtual" -- substituting electronic information for printed directories, books, and journals and giving users more responsibility for their own information hunting and gathering. This article tells what happened when Owens Corning and the Toronto Stock Exchange "went virtual" with their corporate libraries.
