Roundtable

Leveraging experts

February, 1999

Often the most cost-effective way to solve a problem is to ask an expert -- someone who has first-hand experience in a similar situation. At our recent roundtable a cross-functional group from the chemical, pharmaceutical, accounting, law, publishing, management consulting, and manufacturing sectors shared their successes, insights, and challenges in leveraging experts. Topics covered included how to find out who knows what (and who knows whom), capture an organization's collective wisdom, create a database of intellectual property holdings, and reduce legal exposure through a reference database.
