Though regarded as one of the top ten business schools in Europe, ESSEC (Ecole Superieure des Sciences Economiques et Commercialesnear Paris) is relatively unknown outside the continent. But a new degree in luxury brand management has the potential to help the school achieve world class status.
The program began as a partnership between ESSEC and one of its "clients," Louis Vuitton Moët Henessy (LVMH) – three of the great French luxury brands. In 1991 LVMH recognized the need for a training program in prestige brands and founded a faculty Chair specializing in the marketing of luxury goods. In 1995, ESSEC expanded the program by creating an English-language M.B.A. in luxury brand management targeting an international student body.
