Using "rapid application development" (RAD) techniques, ADL is developing its KM program on four fronts at once -- content, culture, process, and infrastructure. Tools and techniques include a Lotus Notes network, new roles such as Knowledge Advocate, Knowledge Steward, and Knowledge Coordinator, and two cross-functional task forces. The article includes a section in which Chait responds to our questions:

  • proportion of cost-saving to revenue-generating outcomes;
  • what tools and techniques are used by Knowledge Stewards;
  • how people in the new roles carved out time from their existing jobs to perform them.
