Base Publishing systems
A Knowledge Base Publishing system is a combination of information, software, and business processes designed to increase the productivity of individuals performing creative, managerial, and problem-solving tasks. The system combines the tools of today, such as e-mail, search engines, and hypertext, with the classic features of databases and print publications — fielded search, structured data, thesauri, glossaries, and A - Z indexes. Through software "connectors," the Knowledge Base can exchange and update data from other applications, such as word processors, search engines, authoring programs, and others. Members who create a prototype Knowledge Base in the teaching Lab can license a version of the system tailored to meet their work group requirements, either hosted or installed by Montague Information Technology. |
